In order to comply with the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) , we have incorporated a new unsubscribe management system into teenvio to facilitate the cancellation of subscriptions in email marketing campaigns, complying with the correct adaptation to the regulation. Do you want to know how to unsubscribe from email marketing adapted to the GDPR? In this post we explain how to do it in a clear and simple way, following the requirements of the European data protection regulations.
The classic system of cancellations is based on the only legal person responsible that could be known ( The sender ), but now we have the possibility of managing cancellations by legal person responsible and the purpose of the treatment as required by the new regulations, regardless of the sender we use for the communication.
In the GDPR, it is mandatory to clearly inform the person responsible and the purpose of the processing for any personal data obtained and there must be express consent for the processing, for this reason teenvio adapts the cancellation system to the same mechanism required by the regulation.
Who's Who?
Sender – Email sent by the email marketing campaign, composed it directors managers email lists of a name and an email, is the From: or From: that a recipient receives in their inbox.
Controller – The natural or legal person, public authority, agency or other body which, alone or jointly with others, determines the purposes and means of the processing of personal data.
Purpose – This is the purpose for which the personal data will be processed, commercial reasons, legitimate interest, informational reasons, etc.
GDPR – General Data Protection Regulation, is the regulation relating to the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and the free circulation of these data.

To properly understand the difference between the classic and the new system of discharges, we will explain their differences:
Unsubscribes managed by sender (Classic system)
When a communication (email) is sent and the recipient decides to cancel the subscription, this is done through the sender who sent it and at that moment, said sender becomes inactive for sending messages to that contact.
Contact A – Unsubscribe from sender
Deregistrations managed by responsible person and purpose (New system)
When a communication is sent and the recipient decides to unsubscribe, it will be associated with the person responsible and the purpose of the sender who sent it, regardless of which one we use. Thus, if a recipient unsubscribes from commercial mailings from a company, this will be done indirectly for all senders who have the same purpose and person responsible , marking senders with the same purpose and person responsible as inactive.
