Create your own sales pipeline

Now that we have established the default steps, it's time to build your own pipeline.

Ask yourself the following questions:

What are the steps a prospect must take before deciding to buy?
What should you do with a prospect as part of this process?
What are the key steps you can identify?
If you're that detailed, you might find yourself walking your prospects through 15-20 steps or more before they buy.

A sales pipeline with that many stages, however, will not be very usable. And the value of a sales pipeline depends on whether or not it is used.

That’s why you should try to limit the wuhan cell phone number list number of steps in your sales pipeline to 7-10 steps. You can write down the steps you skipped as tasks to complete in order to move on to the next step.

Are you ready? It’s time to set up and customize your sales pipeline in your CRM settings.

customize the sales pipeline
Create stages, edit them, create additional pipelines. Make your sales pipeline represent your sales process as best as possible.
You may find that different products or customer segments require moving the sales opportunity through a different set of steps.

If these differences are significant, it might be a good idea to create a separate pipeline in your CRM. Otherwise, you'll be trying to move (some of) your opportunities through the wrong set of stages.

Creating an additional pipeline can also be useful if you want to separate pipeline views by department or country. Or if you want to separate sales from account management.

So make sure your CRM supports multiple pipelines (like Salesflare ).
