The most common
1 – « June Newsletter »
We can't make subject lines so generic, impersonal and boring. Your contacts won't even be curious about what might be in this email - they just won't notice it!


Our advice: try to pique your readers' curiosity or at least give them a hint of what your newsletter will offer them this month.

2 – « Discover our product »
And wouldn't it be better to tell the news about said product? Especially since your list is (or should be) segmented and they meet a profile related to the need that the product covers. Instead of a vague subject, highlight the benefit for the user.



Our tip: Instead of "New: Discover the xxx robot vacuum cleaner", you could say "Cleaning from your bed? Now it's possible!"

3 – “Satisfaction survey” “We are interested in your opinion”
Oh no, another survey to answer! Frankly, it's tiring for everyone. And that's being polite.

6 – “URGENT…” “REMEMBER…” “HURRY UP…”

Can you please calm down?! Pressuring your users will not benefit you, and it certainly won't help you build a true brand relationship.

You will only succeed in creating a feeling of "false alarm" and annoyance. And most importantly, no one will take you seriously on the day when you have something really important to say.



Our advice: Creating a sense of urgency will increase your click-through rate in the short term, but it will kill your leads in the long run. Focus on making your subject line something that provides a benefit to the user rather than sounding like an invitation.

Ok, we are not very good at this. It can happen/has happened to all of us that when writing quickly or in a hurry, we have missed a letter or made a spelling mistake.

It's not the end of the world, but it still doesn't inspire good feelings among readers.

Our advice: It's hard to spot our own mistakes, so ask someone to read your content.

8 – « Open me! »
If I were your contacts, I wouldn't open it. It stinks of a virus or a scam...
