Steps to add Google Click ID (GCLID) to Google Analytics Universal

To access your Google Click ID (GCLID) data in Google Analytics, you will need to create a new "Custom Dimension" in your Google Analytics Universal Account. Here are the setup steps:
You need to go to the Google Analytics homepage.
Click the button at the bottom left of the screen to access the Admin Page.
Select the desired account from the left and then select the appropriate cameroon consumer email list property from the center panel.
Tap “Custom Definitions,” then select “Custom Dimensions.”
Tap the "+ New Custom Dimension" tab.
Give your new custom dimension a name, such as "GCLID," and select "User" as the scope.
Click the Create button to create a custom dimension.
Once you have finished creating your custom dimensions, refer to the table listing all your custom dimensions. Take note of the "index" (GCLID) assigned to the custom dimension you created, you will need this index in the next step.
Creating this custom dimension will allow you to collect GCLID data in Google Analytics Universal, allowing you to effectively track and analyze the performance of your GCLID campaigns.
Steps to get GCLID from URL
To retrieve the GCLID from the URL and forward it to Google Analytics, create a new variable in Google Tag Manager. To do this, follow these steps:

Click the Variables button in the left sidebar to access the Variables page.
In the User Defined Variables panel, click the New button.
Access the Variables Settings panel to set up new variables.
Select URL as the variable type.
Select Query as the component type.
Enter "GCLID" in the Query key.
Give your variable a name and click the "Save" button in the top right corner.
Creating this variable in Google Tag Manager allows you to separate the GCLID from the URL and store it in a variable, which in the next step will be sent to Google Analytics when users visit your website.
