You won't always get the link added, but with minimal effort, the ones you gain through this tactic will be well worth it.

Over time, links get lost or broken for various reasons, over which you have no control.

This could be because the author updated the content and removed the link, the link simply got lost during a site update, or the page became a 404 or 301 redirect.

This could even be because a page on your site that had links argentina phone number data pointing to it became a 404. However, links pointing to a 404 page are not taken into account by Google's ranking algorithm.

Whatever the reason, you need to monitor your site for lost and broken links, and take action to recover them:

Contact the person you were originally in contact with for this site and try to get the link added or fixed when the problem is resolved.

If you notice that a page on your site has become a 404 causing broken links, redirect that URL to the most appropriate page, restore the original page, or contact the site and ask for the target link to be updated.

You can find and monitor broken and lost backlinks with SEMrush's Backlink Audit tool.
