Now, look for the “Network Graph” section. It’s to the right of the “Authority Score” on the Backlink Analytics results page.

Reputable websites have a strong backlink profile with many links relevant to their niche.

2. Set up the backlink gap
You can easily find competitor backlinks with a tool like Backlink Gap .

This competitor backlink analysis tool will help you quickly identify websites you can target and get backlinks from.

Let's see how you can analyze the results effectively.

In the Backlink Gap tool, enter your domain and up to four competitor domains.


Next to each domain, there is a drop-down menu with three options for each part of the website that you can evaluate.

"Root Domain", "Subdomain" and "URL" dropdowns in Backlink Gap
Here's what each of those options means:

Root Domain: All links to the domain will be analyzed. This is useful when you want to compare entire websites.
Subdomain: The tool will analyze all links to these subdomains. You can use this option when you want to compare links from two blogs hosted on subdomains. For example
URL: All links to these specific URLs will be analyzed. This is perfect when you want to compare, for example, two blog posts on the same topic and nothing else.
In this example, we will show you the analysis of root domains.

If this is your first time doing competitor backlink analysis, this is a good place to start. You'll get a broad overview of your competitors' backlink profiles.

3. Analyze the backlink gap
After clicking on " Find Prospects ", you will see the first Competitor Backlinks report showing you the opportunities in the " Top " tab.

These are the websites that link to all of your competitors, but not to you.

These are your best opportunities, because these websites may also want to link to your website.
