In short, any branding project that requires creativity, art direction, storytelling or narrative is something in which we can offer our expertise from Estudio La Fortuna.

How and when did the project come about?
Estudio La Fortuna emerged in the midst of the pandemic in 2020. The story behind our project is longer, but in short, we met while working together at another company for several years, where we developed a solid friendship. In 2019, Paola proposed the idea of living together, and so we did.

La Fortuna Studio Interview
During the pandemic, we both quit our jobs and started working independently. Paola is a designer and I studied communications, which allowed us to offer complementary services as freelancers. Over time, opportunities arose where our clients, needing additional services, would consult each other. It was then that we realized that we made a solid team and decided to formalize our partnership as a company.

Entrepreneurship was not a premeditated decision, but rather a choice that manifested itself naturally as we faced the challenges of the pandemic.

How did you get started and what barriers did you encounter when starting out?
The beginnings were challenging in several ways. Moving from the corporate world to becoming freelancers involved building our own portfolio and gaining the trust of clients.

In the beginning, we worked on a variety of projects to demonstrate our value and skills in areas such as graphic design and communication strategies. Initially, our direction and approach as a company was organic, adapting as we moved forward and defined our course.

One of the biggest challenges was entering the digital world, where competition is intense and communicating what we offer effectively became crucial.

In addition, in our first year, we worked tirelessly, facing financial uncertainty and work-life balance while living and working together during the pandemic. This coexistence also put our friendship to the test, as each of us had our own way of seeing things.

As we grew, the challenge arose to structure and improve our internal processes to maintain and improve the quality of our work.

Each obstacle has allowed us to grow and strengthen as a company.

How long have you had the business website?
Very soon. The moment we decided on the company name, the first thing we did was check if the domain was available. This happened about a year after we started working together. Since we made the decision to formalize our partnership as a company, we spent the entire month of December looking for names, even organizing meetings with friends to discuss options. It was an exhaustive search process until we finally found the right name.

Once we had the name, we checked the availability of the domain and, upon confirming that it was free, we proceeded to register our website.

Why did you choose GoDaddy to be on the Internet?
For me it is like the “Google of domains”, we chose it because we see it as the main reference in terms of domain registration, so we did not consider other alternatives.

I feel that if a domain is GoDaddy, it is true that it exists.
