Tecnohumanos is a podcast that we make at datasocial in which we talk about technology and values. However, in this episode we are going to do something that we are aware we should always do: transcribe the interview with our first guest: Manel Alcaide, CEO of Visualfy.

Ana: [00:00:28] Well, today we have with us Manel Alcaide from Visualfy. Welcome, Manel. How are you?

Manel: [00:00:33] Hello. Good morning. Very well. Thank you very list of telegram users in laos much for inviting us.

Ana: [00:00:37] Nothing, thank you, especially for speaking to us and because I also get the feeling, just from what I've seen from you, that we're going to learn a lot in this little interview. The first thing I wanted to ask you, Manel, is to tell our listeners what it's like to be visual, why you do it and why you exist.

Manel: [00:00:55] Okay? Visualfy, as its name indicates, comes from Visual Notification, it is an application that improves the life and environment of deaf or hearing-impaired people. Obviously, we don't do this with just a simple application, but we use sound recognition algorithms, we install a series of hardware, either in public buildings or in private homes, and this is continuously listening when it detects a sound, such as, for example, the fire alarm, what it does is send notifications directly to the user's smartphones, because it can make the phone light up red with a flame or send the notification to your smartwatch, your smart band or any device you have connected. And in public buildings, we also put a series of lights that indicate that what is happening has a color code. The alarms that are dangerous are usually red or yellow and they are green if they are going to occur at night and are a lighter color. But what we have to take into account is that there are a number of sound inputs around us that are normally related to our safety or personal autonomy. And these inputs must be accessible so that public buildings comply with the standard and are on equal terms for everyone.
