1. Layout design with InDesign
If you are going to design from scratch, start by opening the suite and then opening “New Document” . You can find it by clicking “New” in the “File” section. Set up the page layout by selecting “Page Numbers” and dimensions, ideally the “US Magazine Page Size” option; you can further customize the page height and width from the “Custom” button. After all, it is best to intend to print your document, and don’t forget to check the “Face to Face” box .
You can also customize the design of your page spread by going to “Pages” , in the “Window” section, where you will find the existing A-Master, which is the default case.

When you open the Pages panel, you will see the default A-Master, which is a standard two-page spread, which you can customize using the “Master Options for A-Master” option, which gives you extensive options for manually setting the size of your Master Page.
Make it mobile friendly
You can choose the standard 2-page frame format, but you will notice that reading these magazines on small screens can be awkward, so you will want to make this “mobile friendly” so that you can choose a single page frame to scroll through.
4. Publish a digital magazine on the web from InDesign.
Once you have created the desired view for your digital magazine, you can upload the file to your web server from the “Publish Online” dialog box or use the File Transfer Protocol (FTP) system.
