Are Usability and User eXperience the same thing?
Usability and User eXperience are often confused, but in reality they are different things, even if similar and contiguous.

So to try to understand what the difference is between Usability and User eXperience , I propose the definition of ISO (which is the international organization for standardization):

Usability is concerned with “the effectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction with which selected users achieve specified objectives in particular environments” (ISO 9241-11)

User experience is concerned with “all aspects macedonia phone number of the user's experience as they interact with the product, service, environment or function” (ISO 9241-210)

We realize that we are actually talking about 2 distinct notions.

Usability basically defines performance criteria (effectiveness and efficiency) with which users reach certain goals in certain situations, for example when interacting with a software or an e-commerce site. It is a narrower concept than the entire user experience, because it focuses only on reaching goals while using the site. In the case of a website, the goal of usability is to make the site easy to use, that is, you have to ask yourself if the user can reach his goal .
User experience is instead a consequence of the functionality, presentation, performance, in general of the entire activity carried out on the site. Its purpose is to make the user satisfied with the use he has made of the site . The user eXperience of an e-commerce, for example, concerns all those aspects that characterize the user experience while interacting with your shop.
