CRM system usability and design
SugarCRM UsabilitySugarCRM is very simple in terms of system design. Leads are the starting point for any record in the system, so they are managed, assigned and converted from there. The system design has undergone changes since its inception in 2004, becoming a more sophisticated and user-friendly platform. SugarCRM is easy to navigate and its system search functionality is a key aspect of using it . It is also customizable, in terms of user reviews and menus, so users can create views and menus that will make them more productive.

SugarCRM Qualified Lead Management
When it comes to sales, records start with leads in SugarCRM. Leads are generated by the marketing team. Once generated in the system, they are assigned to the appropriate sales professionals , managed, and qualified. If qualified, then the lead becomes a contact and is associated with an account. Contacts are associated with accounts, which are companies. Opportunities, which represent deals , are also associated with accounts and therefore also have contacts linked directly to opportunities. A “closed/won” deal is used to flag a customer. Other entities such as activities, campaigns, and custom modules that are created can be added to Sugar and tracked while managing a record in the system.
CRM system customization
Fields. Sugar allows you to create custom fields on any object, including modules in the system. Creating these fields is easy, as is making other modifications. All of these features are located in the Studio area of SugarCRM (Admin > Studio). All of the standard field types you would expect are supported.
Objects. Objects are known as “modules” in SugarCRM. All the standard stuff is available there: leads, contacts, accounts and opportunities, as well as activities, campaigns, etc. You can also create custom modules and create custom fields, layouts and relationships for each of these entities.
Layouts. Layouts can be customized in SugarCRM, giving the ability to add fields to areas of the system, allowing users to see the data they want to see. Layouts are also editable in the Studio.
Relationships. Relationships allow you to choose which modules are related to each other and specifically the relationships between each one. In Sugar you can easily create your own relationships between modules, which is one of its great features.
Automations Workflows. SugarCRM workflows are simple to use, found under “Admin > Workflow Management” and are very similar to other workflows you may have seen in other systems. There are 2 parts to understand in any workflow rule : triggers , which define when the workflow should be triggered, and actions, which define what the workflow will actually do once it is executed. Sugar workflows also include “ Alerts” , which can be used to send emails to Sugar users when a workflow is triggered , before the actions are executed.
Lead assignment
One of the actions in SugarCRM workflow is to assign records to users. The trigger will primarily be found on a record, which can be geographic, by industry, by company size, or any other filter by which the company assigns leads. The action consists of assigning the record (usually a lead or contact) to a user , who will usually be a sales professional. Many of these types of workflows can be created in SugarCRM .
