Video games, fitness items, supermarkets and food delivery are among the best-selling products on the internet in the current context.

According to a study by Revolut , the most sought-after products during the pandemic have been from sectors such as gaming and video games, with more than 200% growth in some brands.

There are many sectors such as cryptocurrencies that have seen significant growth, namely platforms like Bitcoin Revolution , which is a cutting-edge trading software that allows you to gain direct access to trade a wide range of global financial assets.

Supermarkets, in turn, saw an increase of 35%. For comparison, sectors such as entertainment, travel and catering saw losses of between 25 and 50%. Home delivery services such as Glovo and Uber Eats are also seeing increases, of between 30 and 51%.

One of the most recent case studies in Portugal is that of the new online supermarket 360hyper.pt , which has a range of over 5,000 products including groceries, fresh produce, frozen food, as well as personal and household hygiene products, drinks and childcare.

Owned by the company 360imprimir – already experienced in e-commerce – the brand currently operates in Lisbon , but has plans to expand to other parts of the country soon. The company has a network of couriers in addition to a team of wholesalers and other partners.

Another example in our country was given by the Sea Me group , which has closed its establishments to the public since March 15, while keeping its kitchen open. In addition to maintaining the delivery service at its most emblematic project – Prego da Peixaria – the company has created a new burger brand, Olívia.

This works in partnership with Uber Eats and only works with home deliveries, in order to satisfy the needs of regular customers of the group's restaurants.

In addition to the restaurant sector, “emergency” supplies and healthcare purchases, another sector that has been in vogue in e-commerce during this pandemic is health and well-being, an area where brands have sought to respond with a proactive digital strategy.
